Conductor - Ann Carter-Cox

   Ann Carter-Cox holds the degrees Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and Master of Fine Arts in Early Music Performance from Sarah Lawrence College. Her critically acclaimed singing career took her to concert halls, communities and college campuses throughout the eastern half of the United States.

Following her performance career, Ann enjoyed noted success in choral conducting with the Youth Choir of the Second Congregational Church of Greenwich, Connecticut, a program which she founded. On its several international tours, she conducted the choir in numerous prestigious venues including Ely Cathedral’s Lady Chapel.






Piano Accompanist - James McGarvey

     James McGarvey, a well-known area pianist, accompanist, teacher, composer and arranger began the study of music at age six. He attended the Eastman School of Music and the College of St. Rose, where he received an MS in music education. Mr. McGarvey has been active in this area for over 40 years and has performed as accompanist with many of the area's soloists and choral groups. He also teaches piano, general music and directs three choruses for the Broadalbin-Perth Central School along with teaching piano privately.


Ben Chan was raised in and currently resides in Schenectady, New York with his wife and two daughters. He began studying the violin at 5 years old and has shared his talents across the United States and Europe.
   Ben served an LDS mission in Brussels, Belgium from 2001 to 2003, where he had the unique opportunity to develop a traveling musical fireside presentation and perform it in dozens of stake centers over 6 weeks.
    Ben has been the concertmaster of several orchestras, including the Empire State Youth Orchestra (ESYO) and the Brigham Young University Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed multiple times at Carnegie Hall, including once as a member of the 2009 YouTube Symphony Orchestra, selected from a pool of 3,000 auditions covering the entire world. He has been the featured concerto soloist with several orchestras, including an opportunity to perform Astor Piazzola's 4 Seasons across several European countries with the BYU Chamber Orchestra.
    Ben teaches a small violin studio and currently maintains a YouTube channel called "BenChanViolin" which has over 50,000 subscribers and 10 million views. He is working with his brother Jonathan on InstruNOTE (www.instrunote.com), a suite of iPhone/iPad and Android apps that teach ear and interval training and introduce technology to music teachers and students around the world.


Jonathan Chan began studying piano at age 6 and has maintained a modest side career as a film/video game composer and educator.
   Jonathan has performed as a concerto soloist with several local orchestras and is an avid accompanist, including performances with some of the top instrumental and vocal talent at Brigham Young University, where he studied English and Computer Science.
   Jonathan is currently working with his brother Ben on InstruNOTE (www.instrunote.com), a suite of iPhone/iPad and Android apps that teach ear and interval training and introduce technology to music teachers and students around the world.
